Welcome New Executive Director Fervone Goings
The Westlock Community Foundation (WCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Fervone Goings as its new Executive Director, effective May 7, 2026.
Goings brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the nonprofit and post-secondary sectors, with a strong background in governance, community engagement, strategic planning, and organizational development. Most recently, she served as Executive Lead of WISEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science & Technology) at the University of Alberta, where she led a nationally recognized initiative focused on advancing equity and inclusion in STEM.
Raised in Westlock, Goings brings both professional expertise and a deep personal connection to the community. Her leadership has been defined by a commitment to building strong partnerships, stewarding resources responsibly, and supporting long-term, community-driven impact.
“We are delighted to welcome Fervone as Executive Director,” said Ralph Leriger, WCF Board Chair. “She brings a strong combination of leadership experience, community understanding, and a thoughtful approach to stewardship. We are confident she will help guide the Foundation through its next stage of growth and impact.”
“I am honoured to join the Westlock Community Foundation at this important stage in its evolution,” said Goings. “Community foundations play a unique role in stewarding both financial resources and community relationships over the long term. I’m excited to work alongside the Board, donors, and community partners to build on the Foundation’s strong legacy and continue strengthening its impact across the region.”
Becoming the second Executive Director in the Foundation’s history, Goings’ appointment marks an important step in the Foundation’s continued growth and commitment to community leadership.
We are excited to welcome Fervone to the Foundation and look forward to the next chapter of growth and impact.
