Westlock Community Foundation Unveils 2024 Granting Program: A Call for Positive Change

Excitement fills the air as the Westlock Community Foundation (WCF) proudly announces the launch of its 2024 granting program. At the core of the foundation's mission is a dedication to building and fortifying the community, and this annual initiative stands as a beacon for positive change and growth within the region.

Funding Opportunities for Positive Change:

The 2024 granting program offers a ray of hope for those with ambitious plans to enrich our community. With a commitment to diversity, the WCF is poised to offer a comprehensive range of grants to address various needs and aspirations. Whether representing a charitable organization or a community group with a noble cause, all are invited to explore the myriad of funding opportunities available through the WCF.

These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Community Priorities Grants: Supporting projects aimed at enhancing the overall development and well-being of the region, including the Town of Westlock, Westlock County, and the Village of Clyde. These projects align with six community priorities:
  • Community Health & Wellness
  • Cultural Life
  • Lifelong Learning
  • Environment
  • Connections and Belonging
  • Abundant Living 
  1. Youth in Action Grants: Focusing on initiatives that nurture the education and growth of youth, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
  2. Learning and Literacy Grants: Investing in programs that promote lifelong learning and community building through literacy and educational opportunities. 
  3. Rural Resiliency Grants: Celebrating the unique lifestyle of rural communities in Westlock and surrounding areas.

The Rural Resiliency Grant, established in honor of Florence and Albert Miller, aims to enhance and sustain the quality of life in rural communities. Examples of eligible organizations include 4H, Community Halls, and Agricultural Societies, among others.
