2025 SESSIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED.

PRESENTATIONS FOR 2024 SESSIONS CAN BE FOUND BELOW IN THE DROP-DOWN MENU.

Wills Week is a series of free presentations that help area residents learn the value of creating and maintaining an up-to-date will.

We partner with a dedicated team of volunteer estate lawyers and financial advisors to answer your questions about will and estate planning. Wills & Estates Week sessions are free of charge to the public and offer information about:

  • Creating and/or updating a will,
  • What a will can and cannot do,
  • How a will can help save taxes for both you and your estate, and
  • Why it is so important to have a will prepared with the help and expertise of a lawyer, accountant, and financial and estate planner.

Having a valid, up-to-date will ensures you determine who:

  • Gets what from your hard-earned assets,
  • Will administer your estate, and
  • Will be guardians of your dependent children.

After family and loved ones are taken care of, many people choose to create a lasting legacy in their community.

In addition to information about putting your estate plans together, there will be dedicated sessions detailing the important role of administering an estate. The sessions offer information about:

  • Administering an estate,
  • What an estate can and cannot do,
  • Proper accounting procedures for an estate, and
  • Why it is so important to plan an estate with the help and expertise of a lawyer, accountant, and financial and estate planner.

Having a properly planned estate ensures you determine who:

  • Gets what from your hard-earned assets,
  • Will administer your estate, and
  • Makes decisions in case things go awry.

Research shows that 98% of Canadians make donations in their life. Planning for a legacy gift in your will ensures your dreams and aspirations for the community continue beyond your lifetime. Working with WCF can help individuals and families build funds that reflect their interests.

Why Leave a Gift in Your Will?

A Will is a timeless way to leave your legacy. An investment like this tells your story while providing your ongoing inspiration to future generations. A gift in your Will may specify a sum of money, a specific asset, or a portion of your estate to be donated to WCF or an existing Fund at WCF.

By including a charitable organization in your Will, you will make an impact and support community causes that are meaningful to yourself.

We are happy to work directly with families, charities, corporations, and legal and financial advisors. If preferred, your donation may also remain anonymous.
