Westlock Community Foundation Launches 2025 Granting Season: Fuelling Community Change
As we step into a new year, the Westlock Community Foundation (WCF) is thrilled to announce the launch of our 2025 granting season! Our commitment to strengthening the community remains steadfast, and we are eager to support local initiatives that make a meaningful impact.
Investing in Community-Led Solutions
The Foundation exists to connect donors with causes that matter, ensuring that charitable dollars drive real change. In 2025, we are once again opening opportunities for community groups, nonprofits, and grassroots organizations to apply for funding that aligns with key priorities: fostering connection, affordability, safety, economic vibrancy, and active living.
This year, we are introducing Community Catalyst Grants, a new stream designed to support community-driven initiatives that bring people together. With a maximum ask of $500, these grants are meant to fund small-scale projects that spark engagement, whether it’s a cultural festival, a local sports team, or a neighborhood gathering.
Additionally, our established granting programs will continue to provide critical funding in areas such as education, health and wellness, recreation, environment, and the arts. With an anticipated distribution of $280,000 in 2025, we are well-positioned to invest in innovative projects that enhance the quality of life in the Westlock region.
Empowering Change Through Collaboration
While WCF plays a leadership role in convening the community and guiding action, true change comes from collective effort. We believe in empowering individuals, organizations, and community groups to use the insights from the 2024 Community Catalysts Vital Signs Report to inform their proposals. The challenges and opportunities identified in this report highlight where targeted funding can have the most significant impact.
How to Apply
Applications for the 2025 granting season are now open, and we encourage all eligible organizations to review the grant guidelines and submit their proposals. Our team is available to provide guidance on crafting strong applications and ensuring projects align with funding priorities.
